December 20, 2010
Dear Soquel Vineyards Wineclub Members:
Paul, Jon, and I wish you a Holiday season full of deep peace and joy in the company of your
family and friends. As 2010 closes, we express our deepest gratitude to you for your interest
in Soquel Vineyards’ wines, and hope that we produce even finer wines for you in the coming
New Year, 2011. Most significant, we hope that 2011 brings you great happiness, prosperity, and
reflection.
It would be our privilege if your December club shipment, Soquel Vineyards’ 2007 Cabernet
Franc, contributes to your holiday celebrations. Among 350 submissions it was awarded the
distinction of "Best Red Wine" in the Santa Cruz Mountains at the Santa Cruz County Fair in
2010. Please know that this special wine is exclusively for our wine club members. Produced
from a dry-farmed vineyard tucked in the Los Gatos Mountains at an elevation of 2,000 feet,
contributes to the concentrated layers of dried fruits, and chewy tannins. This distinctive red
wine was aged in new Allier barrels for 18 months; some natural sediment may occur, so we
would like to suggest decanting it (maybe in a jolly green or red decanter to further Holiday
conversations!)
As you enjoy each day of this holiday season, watch for some announcements about our special members-only futures release events in February.
In the meantime, live richly, rest fully, and enjoy deeply! Happy 2010, and a hearty 2011!
Most gratefully,
Peter Bargetto
